The French Love Milwaukee Women

Every morning I used to wake up to the smell of sweetly burning toast. After the initial out-of-body moments of waking I would realize that I was in Lyon, France, on a floor, sharing a one room apartment with two other freaks, and that Milwaukee was innumerable kilometers away.
Understandably, I was homesick for the Brew City, and I would scour the web for any song containing the name “Milwaukee”. After about a dozen oddly melancholy “Cousin in Milwaukee” covers I came across a track by the French duo, Poney Express, entitled “Les Femmes De Milwaukee,” off their album Daisy Street.
The song is in French but the singer talks about how in her dreams she’s a woman from Milwaukee. This is a true testament to our oft-maligned city, and all it’s beautiful women. I just thought you should all check out this mellow track while contemplating the romance and muddled grace of Milwaukee.
