The Thursday Retrospect – 07/09/09

It was either The Thursday Retrospect or Thunderclapping Thrombosis Thermogenic Thursdays, obviously I went with the more conservative title. This is gonna be a reoccurring post every Thursday, where I will post 5 individual tracks off my my top albums of all time. Hope you all enjoy.

Also you can download the playlist here :)

mp3: Animal Collective- Summertime Clothes

*This is an obvious new one to my top tracks and top albums, but you cant fault new for being AMAzing. Merriweather Post Pavaillion owned and continues to own me.

mp3: Wilco- A Shot in the Arm
* Off of Summerteeth, which is one of Wilco’s finest albums. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about YHF. Look for some more from that in the next few weeks.

mp3: Ben Folds Five – Narcolepsy
*On The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. If you didn’t listen to this your Junior or Senior year of highschool, you need to go back in time Marty McFly style and do that. AWESOME album.

mp3: Talking Heads- Found a Job
* On The Name of this Band is Talking Heads and live on one of the best live shows of all time Stop Making Sense. Both versions are amazing, but the live one is insanely good. If you haven’t already, buy or Netflix stream (which you can right now) the Stop Making Sense DVD. If you are not a fan of David Byrne or the Talking Heads after that, you can just stop trying.

mp3: Bright Eyes – Another Travelin’ Song
*I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning, amazingly beautiful album and appropriate enough, also great for road trips. Connor Oberst sometimes can get a little emo at times (like most of the time) but this album has some absolutely gorgeous tunes and also some rockers like this one.
