The Thursday Retrospect Vol. II
In this, Vol. II of the the Thursday Retrospect, I decided to go with some of my favorite tracks off of my favorite albums, that are meant to be listened to with headphones.
WARNING!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE TRACKS WITHOUT HEADPHONES!! EARS WILL BLEED, EYES WILL FALL OUT, AND A FEELING OF GENERAL UNHAPPINESS WILL OCCUR!!
Ok, so, seriously, its okay if you listen to them on your laptop or your speakers, BUT don’t say I didn’t warn you.
mp3: Wilco- I am Trying to Break your Heart
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot- This is one of my top 5 albums and one of the all time greatest opening tracks to any album of all time, excluding Motzarts 5th Symphony Movement ofcourse. (I just made that up, I don’t know if thats a real thing or not)
mp3: Beck- Paper Tiger
Sea Change – Just a truly spectacular album. I once read a review by Jim Deregotis of the Chicago Tribune, and he said that he is still waiting for Beck to make the album that actually says something. I think this was this album and Jim just missed it.
mp3: Radiohead- How to disappear completely
Kid A- So, you will see more of tracks off this disc in upcoming Restropect Vol.’s due to the fact that this is my all time, number one, desert island, can’t live with out albums. Radiohead and this album changed the way I listened to music for me and I still get goosebumps everytime I listen. Ten Chicken Thumbs up ;-)
mp3: Ween- I don’t want it
Quebec- My buddy Dan said, “Hey check these guys out. They rented a house in Quebec, did multiple drugs and then wrote a track each on the drugs. Its really good!!” He was right, it is really good. I’m not sure what drug this song was written on, but if you wait till the end of the song, and listen to Dean Ween just lay down an insaaaane solo. Really fun and crazy album.
mp3- The Flaming Lips – Flight Test
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots- I think everyone knows and loves this album, but if you don’t fit into either of those, you should, and very soon. I’ve talked about the Flaming Lips waaay too much on this site for you all not to like them. GET ON IT!!
