Kings Of Leon: WTF’s and remix album on the way

So, its evey one’s favorite thing to do with indie bands: Discover one you love, keep them in your back pocket – only to introduce them to others as your beautiful secret, declare them as ‘under rated’ and ‘over due’ for some credit, then jump ship as soon as they gain some momentum.

Guilty as charged on this one and thats ok. I mean Only By The Night had some good tracks… but it also had some really trite tracks. Slippery slope on these guys.

As I’ve posted before Aha Shake Heartbreak was(is) amazing, as well as Youth and Young Manhood, after that???? yikes.

Now to the news:

The Kings of Leon have told Billboard that they’ve been working on new songs during their sound checks, with the eight to 10 tracks they’ve developed thus far comparable to bands like Radiohead, Thin Lizzy and the Band.

Caleb Followill will be guest judge on The Food Network’s Iron Chef in the fall. (he’ll baaatend yo pahty and critique your dinner) Kings Of Leon are putting out a live DVD from their O2 show and a remix disc is on-the-way. Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Lykke Li, and Mark Ronson are slated to stitch it up.

I wonder if these tracks will make the cut:

mp3 – Kings Of Leon – Use Somebody (RAC remix)

mp3 – Lykke Li – Knocked Up (Kings Of Leon Cover)

mp3 – Kings Of Leon – Pistol Of Fire (Mark Ronson remix)

golden oldie:

mp3 – Kings Of Leon – Trani

  1. HAHAHAHA….the end is here! When I first listened to Aha, and it melted my face and ears, the first thing I though, was that I would NEVER see the lead singer on Iron Chef, but, alas, I guess I was wrong.

Also, Radiohead, Thin Lizzy and the Band, I hope he was joking… ;)
