New Radiohead track – Harry Patch (In Memory Of)

Radiohead released a new song today at their Dead Air Space blog. The song, “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)” is a tribute to the memory of Harry Patch, the last surviving World War I combat soldier, who died at age 111 on July 25 and will be buried tomorrow. You can buy the track (proceeds go to UK veterans’ charity the Royal British Legion) here.

Meh. I am a definite Radiohead lover, but you can definitely tell this was done in about 5 minutes time. They best part about Radiohead is there absolute individuality; this song is everything but original. I’m probably missing the point though – it certainly is beautiful – and when you think about the content, it grabs you by the gonads.
I bet Blur could have done a better job.
