I love side projects. The unexpected pairing of The Black Keys and Jim Jones, Blakroc, is a hip-hop / blues rock collab that’s got everyone tweakin. Judging from the first single ‘Ain’t Nothing Like You’, it sounds a lot like what you would expect… Jim Jones rapping over the shredded Black Keys‘ blues rock. Not to say that the whole disc will be this predictable…. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Blakroc’s self-titled debut LP is out on November 27. The disc includes some pretty incredible cameos (Mos Def, RZA, Raekwon, Q-Tip, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, M.O.P.’s Billy Danze, Jones, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.)… so, one really can’t help but be excited.
