5 Songs To The Weekend: Yeasayer, Beach House, Yarn Owl, Lil Wayne, Thao with the Get Down Stay Down
New music from old faves: Yeasayer announced their new disc, Odd Blood, will be dropping February 9. That is great news for anyone who loved All Hour Cymbals as much as I did. Yeasayer released their first single Ambling Alp. They went a little Animal Collective on us, I LOVE it.
Beach House have recently announced their new work, Teen Dream, coming out Jan 26. You can hear some live cuts of new songs here. Wedding Bell, below, is an incredibly beautiful song that breaks my heart every listen.
I’ve been living with the new Thao with the Get Down Stay Down for some time now and I must say its really good. Easy is a bouncy stomp, love it. Weezy kills Jay-Z’s D.O.A and Run This Town on the new No Ceilings Mixtape.
I had the chance to talk to Pullman, WA’s Yarn Owl recently, who are releasing a follow up to Tiny Dots. We’ll post more on that next week.
