5 Songs To The Weekend :: Animal Collective, KK+BBQ Show, Them Crooked Vultures, Pearl Harbor, MillionYoung

The much anticipated Fall Be Kind EP from Animal Collective is floating around the interwebs today. We’ve all heard live versions of their Grateful Dead sampled ‘What Would I Want Sky?’ but I’m loving the studio cut. I think a lot of people have really been gushing over the summer-stunner Washed Out off the Mexican Summer label. The label’s got some other great lesser known acts with similar glo-fi sensibilities,  Million Young + Pearl Harbor. Them Crooked Vultures? I think the idea of Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones teaming up, was cooler than the music could ever be. Although the music isn’t bad, it’s just ok. Josh Homme is still THE shit. In light of KK+BBQ’s recent mishaps, I thought I’d include a pretty great track off their latest Invisible Girl.

mp3 – Them Crooked Vultures – Scumbag Blues

mp3 – Pearl Harbor – Luv Goon

mp3 – MillionYoung – Weak Ends

mp3 - King Khan & BBQ Show – Anala
