5 Songs To The Weekend: Hot Chip, Delphic, The Besnard Lakes, JJ, Spoon, + MKE hip hop
5 of our current favorite tracks. Surely fitting for your weekend’s up(per)s and down(er)s, the tempos are pretty mixed. “Theives in the Night” is the intro track off Hot Chip‘s One Life Stand LP. BBC calls Delphic ‘the band to look out for in 2010‘ . With a US release of LP “Acolyte” and a stint at this years loaded Coachella, I think the Delphic boys will have a big year. (evan ;)) “Like The Ocean”, a slow burning 90′s-esque post-rock gem, is a glimpse into the incredibly beautiful album by The Besnard Lakes “The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night“. Can we all agree that Brit Daniel absolutely kills it on “Written In Reverse”? Some where in the middle, stylistically, of these 5 tracks is new work from JJ. Really excited about their new album and Secretly Canadian debut “jj n° 3″.
