Not Just Another Saturday in Milwaukee: April 3rd

In Milwaukee, with the plethora of national acts hitting the famed venues run by the Pabst Theater, its tough enough deciding where your money should go. But now there’s an even tougher decision to make. If you love music like I love music, you’re half excited and half upset that on April 3 you will have to choose between two amazing bands; One that had an amazing freshman ’09 and another that is about to release their third album and what just may be the best record of 2010. Not since August 2, 2004, when Wilco blew the roof off of the Eagles Ballroom while Ed Droste and Grizzly Bear mesmerized the kids across town, have Milwaukeeans had to make as tough of a decision as choosing between seeing Passion Pit at Turner Hall or Beach House at the Pabst.
I suppose it all depends on where your head is at at the moment. Surely if you are looking for a dance party or to get in a decent workout while continually smiling your face off on the day before the Easter holiday, I’ll expect to see you singing along with the Bostonians at Turner Hall. If that’s not quite your thing but meditative and brain melting beauty is, I’ll assume you’ll be in the company of angels at the sonically perfect Pabst Theater with Baltimore’s second favorite indie act. Man, such a tough call but I think the throes of Passion Pit have got me on this one. Please do let us know which show you’re planning on heading to.
P.S. Beach House is playing at the Metro in Chicago on the previous night.
P.P.S. Had Washed Out been on Beach House’s Milwaukee bill my head would’ve exploded in indecision
P.P.P.S. (Last One) Pre Order Beach House’s forthcoming Teen Dream from Sub Pop you can stream it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Here’s a couple tracks to keep you in the loop 8)
Beach House- Zebra (Them Jeans Drums Lightly Remix)
