This is by no means new news as we have been eagerly awaiting the release of the debut record by the hilariously catchy and clever, Everybody Was in The French Resistance….Now for quite a while. However, we were alerted today and are very excited to alert you to the fact that Cooking Vinyl will be releasing “Fixin’ the Charts: Volume One” on February 16th! Mark your calendars!
The brainchild of Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos and Dyan Valdes of L.A.’s underexposed The Blood Arm, Everybody Was In The French Resistance….Now create bubblegum smacking pop with a purpose. You see, Eddie and Dyan have a budding problem with popular music and they are hell bent on fixing the charts, so to speak, by recording cheeky responses to top hits. And these responses are grand! So, if you’ve ever disliked a song because of its repetitive simplicity, vehemently disagreed with the immorality of a hedonistic songwriter, or would just like to hear a well written and comedic “fuck off” to an overplayed song, Everybody Was in The French Resistance….Now is the band for you. And even if you’ve never thought any of those things, you should probably still give the record a listen.
