hand me down tuesdaY. This one’s for you EP- (Who the f**k doesn’t like Elvis?)

To list the emotions that I feel when I hear the voice of Elvis Presley would maybe span this entire page, possibly take up too much of your precious time, and certainly lead you to question my sanity. Simply put, the man had the voice of an angel. Because of this fact, on what would have been his 64th birthday, I had a portrait of him tattooed on my forearm. But because my bank account will not allow me to inject more ink into my skin I give you an Elvis themed hand me tuesdaY to celebrate what would have been his 75th birthday this Friday. Featured here are mostly my favorite songs covered by Elvis followed by one of my favorite artists covering the king. Surely I could put up two months worth of EP covers or go on all day about each of these recordings but I will spare you my boyish fanaticism and leave you only the music. But I will tell you that his rendition of Three Dog Night’s “Never Been To Spain” has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. His band is funkier than hell while the accompanying master digs deep and even supplies some karate-esque groans for good measure. If you don’t know, now you know…………Happy Birthday!
