Here’s to Conan’s Musical Taste
By now, everyone and your mother has had their say with regards to Conan and the massive media spectacle that has played out over the past two weeks. Honestly, what could possibly be left to say? Well, I’m just going to toss this out there, Conan and his staff have long demonstrated a keen and very public eye for good music. Since that is something I can totally identify with, the basic primal response of getting excited over good shit, I tip my hat to Conan and his crew for years of booking good bands. I can remember looking forward to seeing it in the nineties as a kid, I remember when he had the Strokes (see above) as a house band in January 2005, and his most recent run on the tonight show has been frequently marked with killer performances (see below). I know that no one is short on reasons to be a fan of the Late Night Ginger Giant, especially recently, but hell, he even plays rockabilly guitar. Wherever Conan O’Brien lands, I’ll look forward to seeing that firery mop blowing in the wind as he runs over to shake hands and say, excited like any true fan, “Wow that was great.”
