Our first mix of 2010 is a good one. Possibly, the most refreshing breath of new music I’ve had in a bit. Over the holidays I had some interesting talks with old friends about Indie music. A lot of people claim what we’ve known as ‘indie music’ is dead. I definitely think that the original spirit of indie music is intact – and will be – even after brands like Urban Outfitters / Twilight chew it up and spit it out. Yes the bands that have ‘pioneered the movement’ have seen a ton of national success, which is not a bad thing, but it leaves the door open for the next out-of-no-where band(s).
So, here are some acts we’re excited about in 2010: (we’ll have some more proper write ups on most of these bands in the coming weeks)
