Harlem Cover “Goodbye Horses”

Harlem have reached an unbelievable level of sincerity on their cover of Q Lazzarus’ “Goodbye Horses”. For a band associated with lo-fi production and song titles like, “Gay Human Bones,” and “Friendly Ghost,” the boys from Austin crisply covered the international anthem for penis tucking with a surprising amount of restraint, as well as a drum machine.
The pealing guitars, gloomy vocal oohs, and the chorused choral chorus are all previously unseen sides of the Texan spit rockers. “Goodbye Horses,” shows the depth of a sometimes two dimensional band, and it’s a more palatable version of an all-too-creepy original.
