Reading Rainbow Rocks, But You Don’t Have To Take My Word For It

Reading Rainbow is only the latest great news to come out of the city of brotherly love.  This Philly duo has been been making self-described “punk as shit” music for at least the past 3 years now, and recently they have decided to clean up their dirty wails in favor of a cleaner, harmonized, but still analog sound.

“Underground,” is a one-minute-seventeen-second punk-rock grenade filled with composition B, major-to-minor changes, succinct instrumentation, and girl on boy harmonies.  There’s even a shade of, “99 Red Balloons,” on “Underground,” which is the first track from Reading Rainbow’s Prism Eyes LP to see the light of day.  Prism Eyes eyes is sure to score Rob Garcia and Sarah Everton a lot of national attention with tracks as crafted as “Underground”, and hopefully the album will also bring about a record deal for as-of-yet unsigned pair.

Weighing in at a featherweight 1:17, “Underground,” dethrones Javelin’s “Soda Popinski,” as the best song under two minutes this year.
