Pretty excited about what’s going on here. Maybe the weather makes everything seem better but it feels like there is a ton of really great music out/coming out. Today, FADER dropped the first single from GAYNGS, the latest Justin Vernon side project. Love that Vernon does whatever the hell he wants and even cooler; it usually works. Also today, dickfort premiered the first track from Blitzen Trapper’s June 8 album Destroyer of the Void.
The new Delorean album, Subiza, seriously jams.
I finally came around (in a big way) to the Morning Benders. Once all the hype cleared, I realized just how amazing Big Echo is. “Excuses”, track 1, is the way you open up an album.
The Mad Chef and I have been hanging posters of Damon Albarn over our beds at night, while head-phoning the Gorillaz Plastic Beach. On the flip-side to the benders, “Pirate Jet” is the way you close an album.
While in Chicago on vaca last week, I spent a small fortune on vinyl. My favorite pick-up being Four Tet’s There Is Love In You, or as The Menace would call it – the one with the pretty album art. Lastly, I don’t hate the new MGMT album as much as everyone seems to. So there’s not a “Kids” or “Time to Pretend” (which is all anyone ever seems to mention about Oracular Spectacular), I think the rest of MGMT’s debut really falls in line with what’s going on in Congratulations. Anywho, enjoy and let us know what ya’ll think.
