Mp3: Tennis “Marathon”
Apparently the name “Tennis,” came about after Alaina Moore criticized her husband/band-mate for playing tennis in college, which she considered to be a white elitist sport. The couple solved this spat in the only way possible, by collectively taking up an even more exclusively Aryan sport, sailing.
The Denver couple use their nautical adventures as inspiration for their lyrics, through which tales of high tides are sung by the sweetly monotone and old fashioned voice of Moore. The production is submerged, offshore, and the bare instrumentation rocks with a slight fuzz. Tennis are yet another group finding comfort, as well as a voice, in the styling of rock n’ roll past.
They are due to release a 7″ on Underwater Peoples, which will include “Marathon”.

Interesting to know that's where the name came from!
Do you know where I can find the lyrics to Marathon? I find it really hard to understand what she's saying but I love the melody.
