Remember last week? Remember I hit you with Passion Pit covering the Smashing Pumpkins Melancholy and the Infinite …mega smash “Tonight, Tonight”? Of course you do because it’s candy. This week the Levi’s Pioneer Sessions one upped themselves on the “hizzle” meter by releasing The Kills dressing up the Velvet Underground’s ”Pale Blue Eyes” as a trash can fuzz fest full of unordinary time signatures. Fantastic. It blows my mind that more people don't dig this band. But hey, the Velvets were way under the radar in their day as well.
The velvets were one of the best. And I love what the Kills have done with this song. The Kills are a special band that will probably get more credit after they have gone – sort of like the VU
the only thing cooler than The Kills doing the VU would be if Jesus was playing the drums
