More and Better Dent May

Someone has already called “Eastover Wives” by Dent May, “possibly the greatest thing he’s ever done,” which basically sums up blogging in it’s entirety.  Dent May is a little known Mississippi musician with a penchant for throwback grooves, but with the release of this newest song people are suddenly familiar with his entire back catalogue and willing to face countless disputations on his finest works to date.  That’s what happens when you are good and you come out of nowhere, everyone pretends that they knew about you all along.

So it is flattering for May that with the release of “Eastover Wives,” and his last certified jam “That Feeling,” wanna-be journalists everywhere are hyperboling the massive shit out of his work.  Not that public reaction should ever take away from genuine artistry, because “Eastover Wives” is definitely the best thing Dent May has done to date, but that’s only because he was releasing ukulele albums before this.

Get into “Eastover Wives,” it’s a monster jam, he’s on fire, ugly shot, at the buzzer, but we knew it all along.

Also, preorder the limited edition 7″ of “Eastover Wives,” and “That Feeling”.
