Hotel St. George – Bloodlust
Hotel St. George is a rawkus jam that sounds like it is a lost recording from the 70′s. I have been spinning this for a few weeks and that is best way I can splain it. I hate to say things like that since I feel like they are lazy, but the LP has a polished post- punk bent underneath some DIY recording…that stoatally sounds like it came out of a crate of ’78 British vinyl aka it’s rad!
In most things that catch my ear there is something that just tickles my fancy and keeps me going back to ye olde well. In this case, DIY feel aside, I say lead singer Matt Binder’s vocals. Final answer. I could describe it, but I am just going to let you hear for yourself. You can stream/ Dl The whole shebang here. Grapevine is they are in the studio and getting their sound cleaned up…we don’t know if that is a good or a bad thing…we just hope they don’t lose their growl, but we will keep you posted!
