The Mysterious Horquillas!

So…uh… this is new for me.. normally I can find SOMETHING on a band…perhaps my digging skills are pub sar atm! Who knows ( the Shadow prolly.. but he isn’t here right now haha). I know more about my creepy, reclusive, cat infested ex- neighbor then I do about this band. For realz.

When writing about music and sharing tunage you are always concious of a few things… first off did you get your facts proper? It always happens..you make mistakes… but nothing is as redic for me as when I happen to check something out somewhere and just see fact error centraal. That generally means dude/dudette is a regurgitator. You may know what I mean…a twitter monster or worse a farm utensil/silverback-ursine zombie potentially devoid of personal taste…must listen…toooo BNNNMMMM. Vomatrocious! I kid, I kid…kinda…good music is good music and popular doesn’t mean good or bad.”Cool” on the other hand..well that is a different story haha. Cool is generally passing, but cream rises to the top.

The second thing is relativity… this I don’t care about so much…but I kinda do.. if you are dropping deep cuts…cool… but if you are squawking about “new” music, but clockin’ some “fresh” release from last year ..yowza! Perhaps I am overkill on this stuff, but it is always rad to find someone else who is like kind and can turn me on to new digs…not stuff I heard months ago and we can hopefully do the same.

I am cringing at how lamesauce Simpson’s comic book guy that sounds (urm no it was only on the Japanese c35 RE-release you rube!! )…but it is what it is haha. I am not that bad..I think haha. It is more a function of excessive compulsive music listening then some pointless oneupsmanship of I can’t believe you listen to that still. That is whacktacular. I like to talk about/share music in the way I would like to taste it. Piping hot from the oven…or “whoa! what is this awesomeness..how did I miss it?? A million thank yous sah!”. It doesn’t always happen, but we do our best…we are only poultry after all.

So all that being said.. I know almost NOTHING about Horquillas (which is kinda refreshing)…they/he/she/it could be a side project of Jonah Hill and Randy “Snap Into A Slim Jim” Savage’s ghost. As I type this, there is someone , somewhere who knows all about this band and is laughing at my incompetence..grrr hahah you win the music nerd alert this time. These Horquillas tracks dropped this morning on the uber prolific Brandon Biondo/Dracula Horse (BFFXOXO) site and the tracks are rad so..really, that is all that matters to me. I will later find out this is Biondo’s 45th band. lol. Dig!
