The Strokes ‘Is This It’ Covered for Stereogum
The Strokes’ Is This It had a huge impact on us all at Seizure Chicken and it comes as no surprise that it has been a big influence on some of the best bands in the business. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Strokes 2001 classic, Stereogum recruited a fine cast of acts, (Real Estate, Peter, Bjorn and John, The Morning Benders, and more) to cover the record track for track and tell a little about how they were influenced by it.
While I was a bit disappointed that my clicks didn’t lead to an unearthing of the still rumored Ryan Adams track for track rendering when I read “The Strokes,” “Is This It,” and “Cover” in many headlines yesterday, Stereogum’s Stroked: A Tribute to Is This It is a great listen and definitely worth your time.
