Dig in: Carter Tanton’s (Tulsa/Lower Dens) Debut Single “Horrorscope”
Today’s mail has been better than average. I might even say that it’s been amazing. This comes as a big surprise, with the news reporting that the USPS is so broke that actual mail may go away for good, and we’re not actually sure why we’re being so aurally blessed on this first day of school. Anyhow, just in is the debut single off of Carter Tanton’s forthcoming record, Freeclouds.
Tanton, formerly known as Tulsa and the newest member of SC faves Lower Dens, with the help of Marissa Nadler’s vocals, brings “Horrorscope” to life as a reanimated mash up between The Raveonettes and early (read awesome) Cheap Trick. It’s lower than lo-fi and that’s just how we like it. After hearing two songs from this release, I am more than excited!
Look for Freeclouds (Western Vinyl) on November 15th and be sure to go see Tanton with a full band touring with The War on Drugs this fall!
